How to install Claude Skills

A Claude Skill is a markdown file — SKILL.md — that turns Claude into a specialist. The eight Hotel Team Skills install in one command for Claude Code, or with no install at all in Claude.ai. Install one skill or all eight; each is self-contained.

What you need

MethodWhat you needBest for
npxNode.js 18+Quickest install — one command
PluginGit + Claude CodeNamespaced, managed via /plugin
Git cloneGit + Claude Code CLIFull control, developer setup
Claude.ai ProjectsA Claude.ai accountNon-technical users, no install

Option 1 — One command with npx (easiest)

Needs: Node.js 18+

The installer clones the skills into ~/.claude/skills/hotel-team-skills/ and they're immediately available in Claude Code.

npx hotel-team-skills install

npx hotel-team-skills list # See all 8 skills
npx hotel-team-skills update # Update to the latest version
npx hotel-team-skills uninstall # Remove the skills

Option 2 — Claude Code plugin

Needs: Git + Claude Code

Load the repo as a namespaced plugin you manage with /plugin. Clone it first, then point Claude Code at the folder:

git clone https://github.com/msg2ai/hotel-team-skills.git
claude --plugin-dir ./hotel-team-skills

Option 3 — Git clone (manual)

Needs: Git + Claude Code CLI

Full control, developer setup — clone straight into your Claude skills folder:

git clone https://github.com/msg2ai/hotel-team-skills.git ~/.claude/skills/hotel-team-skills

Option 4 — Claude.ai Projects (no install)

Needs: a Claude.ai account

  1. Go to claude.ai and create a Project named after your hotel or the role.
  2. Open any SKILL.md file in the repo, click Raw, and copy everything.
  3. Paste it into the Project's instructions and save.
  4. Start chatting — the skill is now active in that Project.

Tip: make one Project per skill and switch between them as your role changes during the day.

Check it worked

After an npx install, npx hotel-team-skills list shows all eight skills. Then just ask a role question — for example “Run today's daily flash report for the 9am standup” or “Build the BAR ladder for the next 30 days” — and Claude picks the matching skill. In Claude.ai, the Project instructions are the skill.

First: set up the shared knowledge base

Every skill reads from — and writes to — one shared knowledge base for your property, on Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, SharePoint, Box or Notion. The General Manager skill creates the folder structure for you if you don't have one, and can bootstrap it from your hotel website with Firecrawl.

Optional: connect your systems

Every skill works without integrations. If you want Claude to reach into the tools you already use, the repo includes setup scripts for connectors such as Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Firecrawl and Vercel — and in Claude.ai you can connect many of them under Settings → Connectors.

No install? No problem.

Copy-paste a skill straight into your editor.

Each SKILL.md in this repo is just markdown. You can drop it into Claude.ai, Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor as-is — they'll all treat it as a system prompt for that role. Pick the tool you already use:

Claude.ai · the easiest path (no install, no terminal)

Best if you're not technical. Works on any computer with a browser. Each skill becomes its own Project so you can switch personas by switching Projects.

  1. Sign in at claude.ai (Pro, Team, or Enterprise — Free tier works for short tests).
  2. Click Projects → Create Project. Name it after the role, e.g. “Marbrisa — Revenue Management”.
  3. Open the SKILL.md file you want from the repo (e.g. hotel-revenue-management/SKILL.md) and copy everything.
  4. In the Project, click Set instructions and paste it in.
  5. Save. Every new chat in that Project is now your AI Revenue Manager.

Tip: Make 8 Projects, one per skill, and switch between them as your role changes during the day.
