How to reconcile Booking.com and Expedia payouts with Claude
OTA statements rarely match the PMS on the first pass. The Finance & Controller skill reconciles each OTA — Booking.com, Expedia, Hotels.com, Agoda — month by month: stays consumed, gross revenue, commission, adjustments, and the net remittance you expected against what actually arrived.
What you need
- Claude (Claude.ai in your browser — the free tier works for short tests — or Claude Code) with the Finance & Controller skill loaded
- Stays consumed in the period, from the PMS
- Each OTA's statement or remittance report
- Bank deposits for the period
Step by step
- Load the Finance & Controller skill. In Claude.ai, create a Project and paste the Finance & Controller SKILL.md into its instructions — or run
npx hotel-team-skills installonce and use Claude Code, which picks the right skill from your prompt. - Share the PMS stays and the OTA statements. Paste or upload last month's stays by OTA from the PMS and each OTA's statement.
- Ask for the reconciliation. Ask: “Reconcile last month's Booking.com and Expedia payouts.”
- Chase anything over 1%. The skill compares expected and actual remittance per OTA and surfaces variances. Investigate any variance over 1% and document chargebacks.
- Escalate chronic mis-posts. Recurring OTA mis-posts go to the GM and Sales for escalation with the channel.

What a good result covers
This is the workflow the Finance & Controller skill follows, quoted from its SKILL.md:
OTA + channel reconciliation
Monthly reconciliation per OTA (Booking.com, Expedia, Hotels.com, Agoda):
- Stays consumed in the period (from PMS)
- Gross revenue per OTA
- Commission charged (% by OTA — 15-22% typical)
- Adjustments (no-shows, cancellations, refunds, partner programs)
- Net remittance expected
- Actual remittance received Investigate any variance > 1%. Document chargebacks. Surface chronic OTA mis-posts to the GM and Sales for escalation.

Review before you send. The output is a strong first draft, not a final answer. The skill asks for missing pieces before it writes, but you remain responsible for anything you send, sign, pay or publish.
